Armonie fra Musica e architettura
The Festival “Harmonies between Music and Architecture” was founded in 1997 by the collaboration between the Association of Friends of the Organ “J. S. Bach” – Modena and the Department of Culture of the Province of Modena. The Apennines of Modena preserves historic organs of the major advantage: many of them come from important city churches of religious orders suppressed in the Napoleonic era.
To exploit this wealth really conspicuous was born “Harmonies”, which, by the ten concerts of the first edition has reached to more than 30 of the 2003 edition.
The interest by municipalities, parishes, tourists who like to spend the summer in the Apennines led to the emergence of a genuine cultural circuit, which has seen big names in the concert panorama getting closer to young, sometimes very young performers. And it is on the young people that our Festival tips.
Traditionally, the inaugural concert was held in Modena, Cathedral Basilica or in the magnificent Benedictine Abbey of St. Peter. From here starts a long musical journey that touches churches, abbeys, speakers, castles Apennines, in a truly picturesque setting.
On the sidelines of the festival, the Province funds, annually, 50% of the restoration of six historic organs of the territory, which are then listened for the first time within the Festival.

The Festival was born in 2003 and supported by Fondazione Cassa di Risparmio di Modena, under the patronage of the City and County: held in Modena and its surroundings, and sees the presence of some of the most renowned names in the international concert scene.

International Salesian Organ Festival
The Festival was born in 2018 and supported by Fondazione CARISBO and Regione Emilia-Romagna, under the patronage of the City of Bologna: held on the monumental Tamburini Organ of the St. Giovanni Bosco’s Church, and sees the presence of some of the most renowned names in the international concert scene together with young musicians.
